Everything started so surreal, we met at a club. His best friend introduced us. I was drunk and thought I’ll kiss him and then we dated. Not a romantic movie we always watch. I never thought he would do anything out of his zone for me until he propose.

For a guy who doesn’t like outdoor activity, we went on Everest basecamp trip. I was very pissed off with him that day because he whines a lot. Complaining about how short of breath and tired he is. Even our guide is so scared that he’s not going to make it up there. I was so furious until the moment he took out the ring where he carried it all the way in a contact lens casing. My anger “poof!”, all gone.

That was definitely hands down the toughest physical activity that he would have done in this entire life and the last one. But he did it for me, for our most memorable moment.

Randall & Yves

Yves and I met 18 years ago in Kuala Lumpur. The time when PalmPilot was a trend then and as cool as having the latest iPhone. I mentioned PalmPilot because we literally exchanged our PalmPilots to key in our phone numbers. This happened right in front of Concorde Hotel at the street while on my way walking to the also the most chic gym in KL then - Sweat Club at Renaissance Hotel. He was on his way home from the same gym. We crossed path, acknowledged each other, stopped for a chat and then that was when we whipped out our PalmPilots.

We are two very different personalities and characters. Yves is French and you know how people perceived French in general, no he is nothing of being a snob. He is a gentle giant, generous, helpful and a kind hearted person. At professional level, he is focused, structured and organised.

I on the other hand is totally the opposite. I am impulsive, take risks, jump first-and see what happens attitude. He is totally not the romantic type but I am all about ambience, mood, aesthetics, music and fashion.

We were inseparable since, lived together, bought a house in KL and living a life as any couple would do.

Then one evening on our way home driving, France legalising gay marriage was the topic of our conversation. We talked about it and the next second you know is - let’s do it! This is exactly the example of how a non-romantic and an impulsive person decided to marry. Not at a romantic venue, customised memorable event nor a surprise either. Instead as a structured person he is, we  were stressing about the documents required instead, to get married especially when it involved Malaysian legal system. French side has nothing to worry about, it is me concerning how to successfully obtained a Certificate of Single/Non-married document from JPN at Putrajaya and Ministry of Home Affairs and submit to the Malaysian Embassy in France to process our marriage in France.

The process went well and smooth. Only then I looked for Ling referred by my friend because I was looking for a customised ring man enough for both of us. Ling did an excellent work!

Now, here comes the romantic part. The actual romantic scenario happened in France on the day we exchanged our vows. We had a beautiful set up, small scale, very private and co-organized together with his family in Southwest of France in Pau (pronounce as Poh). It has a magnificent panorama of the Pyrenees Mountains, here we found a vineyard located at Jurançon called Clos Lapeyre

Pau is beautiful and well known for its production of white wine and vineyards so where else to organise a wedding reception but at a private vineyard. Surrounded my mountains, sunny weather in cool autumn season

The whole wedding event was a joint workforce of my besties in KL, thirteen of them came with us to Pau. we did the table set-up, deco, music and French counterpart managed the venue, food and flowers. This is romantic to me

After the wedding ceremony at lunch we had our brief 3 second first wedding dance to Spandau Ballet’s True and that’s it. Told you he is not romantic!

There is such thing as true love, the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. Most of all, attention is not required but presence.

We knew each other for around 3 years before getting married. You can say that we met under the most unforeseen circumstances. Back when we were dating, we were living in different cities, and getting to see each other has always been the best feeling. For me to see her smile has always been the best reward. We went to Maldives for a vacay and it was there that I proposed to her, by the beach in the sunset. She said “YES” before I even completed my question.

We met each other at the workplace. Her generosity captivated me and of course her beauty too. She loves me because I’m being considerate and loving towards her. I always believe trust is built, not given. The moment of hanging on during the toughest moments is what it takes to last this long and to tie the knot.

Proposal:

After dating for 3 years, I know she is the one for me. On that day, at M Summit 191. I told her it was my colleague’s birthday, then I got all my friends to gather inside the hotel first. When she arrived, she thought it was just a normal colleague’s birthday from my workplace. As she entered, my friends started to come out from the room, one by one giving her a rose, and towards the end, I was holding a cardboard written “ Will You Marry Me?” After that I brought her to the beautifully decorated master room and began my short speech on how we met and how important she is in my life, and finally kneel down to propose to her. She nodded and says Yes! That is the most magical night of my life.

We met through a group of mutual friends. Her charm and smile is contagious. She is my happy pill. Not only she is a good listener, her cheerfulness will automatically put a smile on my face instantaneously when i see her.

After 4 happy years together, I plan a proposal trip to Santorini where it is always her bucketlist. When we stroll to the scenic part of Santorini, I get down on one knee against the backdrop of the shimmering Mediterranean Sea on her dream island! Then i popped the question and it is the most magical moment when she said “YES!”

We are in the midst of planning for our wedding. To many years together.

1 and a half years but feels like we've known each other for 10 years. Love is not about how many days, weeks or months you’ve been together, it’s all about how much you love each other every day.

We met through a mutual friend over dinner. I thought it will be just an ordinary dinner without much expectation. As soon as she arrived, my heart just melted. She was gorgeous and had a very attractive personality. I got her number when we were about to leave and the game was on.

When we were dating together, we shared the same common holiday places to travel to. One of them is in Cappodocia, Turkey. It was her dream destination. I told myself if one day I would to propose to her, it will be definitely there. When I was finally assured that she is the love of my life, I started planning for the proposal. First checklist was the proposal ring where Ling from iDo Jewellery gave plenty of advices and got me the best quality of diamonds and ring within my budget range. When Ling rang me up to tell me the ring was ready, I was excited yet anxious on how the final product was. When I saw the ring, it was stunningly beautiful and the trip to Turkey was on. Thankfully my best friends was willing to travel together to make this a memorable proposal for us. When the big day came, I brought my fiance to that particular spot in Cappodocia, Turkey she always wanted to be in. My heart was racing not knowingly whether she will say yes to my proposal. I gathered my courage and popped the question, she said yes. The rest remains history.

The moment I knelt down on one knee to ask you to marry me and you said yes made me the happiest person in the world. I was overwhelmed with joy until I've forgotten which side of the hand and finger to put on. Boey, my fiance, if you are reading this, I love you for all that you are, all that you have been and all you are yet to be.

Our love story begins 5.5 years ago at the college where this guy is smart, humorous. The affection and he cares a lot of me, loving the family is a plus.

At Mercato wine house, we were dining and he came in with a big bouquet of rose and balloon written “Will You Marry Me?”. I am lost of words.

The second year of we being together , he self bake the cup cake of love shape to surprise me during my birthday , 那是我前所未有的幸福和感动 ~

We knew each other when we were primary schoolmate. She’s bubbly and kind hearted, because she said she wanted to find a home for a stray dog. I drove the dog all the way from KL to Johor. It is not easy but deep down I know this is the girl that I cannot lose in my life.

So I decided to propose to her in our trip to Europe. I kneel down on my knees to ask her to marry me at Lake Konigssee, Germany.

That’s the most magical moment when she looked down and said “Yes!”

We are marching in gracefully to our 5th year being together, and we have been married 2 years by now.

I get to know my wife through dating apps and it was really a coincidence to both of us because I have swiped right on her profile. As she was new to the dating apps during that time, she was not very sure on how the apps worked and on that she swiped a right for me too. That’s how we got started.  I met her in person after about 3 month and our first date was an orchestra concert because I thought it was a right time for both of us to meet.

I proposed to my wife on 2017 together with the help of friends at a sky dining restaurant in KL. It was a special moment in my life even though she was brilliant enough on that time and knew what exactly I was going to do.

My special moment is when me and my wife marched in during our wedding night, and when we looked each other into the eyes, she is like the everything to me and complete my whole life. It is the catchy moment that I wont able to forget for the rest of my life.

I & Karen met in 2015 when Karen joined the company that I was working for. I can still clearly remember the very 1st time we met as we were introduced to one another and the very 1st thing that caught my attention was her very sweet smile. We were in different departments and our work wasn't really related to each other but I believe God made a way for us to be closer and that's when we had to work late on a few occasions that's how we started talking to each other more. The more we talked and shared about our past the more we got closer and that lead us to our very 1st date together and it was over coffee.

Over time, we went out for more frequent dinners and coffee together and over time, our feelings grew for each other. I some how or rather knew that she was the one for me as she has a very caring heart and very humble. That's when I knew I couldn't let her go and asked her to be my girlfriend and she agreed.

That's when our relationship started to bloosom. We could talk about anything together and share things with each other. Of course there will be ups and downs in every relationship but we will always talk about it together and work it out. That's how I believe our relationship gets stronger & stronger with each passing days.

After 4 years together in courtship, it's time to make the next move and ask her to marry me and that's when I planned together with her closest friends for a surprise proposal.

Honestly, it was a very last minute thing but the opportunity and timing was just excellent. I asked her friends to invite her out for dinner together and I would surprise her later as on the day itself, I was in Penang for work and am suppose to be back later that night. I came back earlier without her knowing and surprised her halfway through their dinner. It was arranged at Cafe Cafe Restaurant in KL. The ambience was just perfect for the occasion and that's where she said 'YES' to me.

I was the happiest man alive and I knew we would spend the rest of our lives together. It was all God's plan to bring her into my life and cherish every moment we have spent together and for the remaining years to come for us together.

Our love story begins back when we were in Taylors College, and further our studies in Melbourne but our love takes off after we graduate and started working. His persistency and patience captivated me.

True love is the most important factor that we are together after 6.5years of long-distance relationship. It wasn’t easy until the day he proposed.

He proposed on my birthday on the birthday trip to Bali at a beautiful resort during a private dining at our villa while the guitarist and singer was singing “A Thousand Years”. He kneels down on his knees and he pops the question. It was an instant Yes!

Long distance relationships are hard, but they’re also incredible. If you can love, trust, respect and support each other from a distance then you’ll be unstoppable once you’re physically together.

It is not just another birthday, it was a really special one, a once in a lifetime gift that I have not expected. It was such a sweet and unforgettable surprise!

The breathtaking location at Lexis Hibiscus, romantic decoration, the beautiful rose bouquet that I have longed for, the champagne. He pulled out the ring and kneeled on on knee. He truly swept me off my feet! Of course my answer is “Yes!”
